What is?
StateSXT is a Python package that embodies the State Design Pattern (by the ‘State’), integrating the power of Selenium (by the ‘S’), while also incorporating a robust Hybrid Testing Framework (by the ‘X’) tailored specifically for efficient and comprehensive testing purposes (by the ‘T’). This package provides a structured and modular approach to managing states in software applications, offering a seamless combination of state management, web automation through Selenium, and a testing framework to streamline the testing process.
In addition, StateSXT seamlessly integrates with Google Sheets and Google Drive for enhanced data management and reporting capabilities. The package allows for data retrieval directly from a Google Sheet, enabling users to dynamically incorporate external data into their testing scenarios. Furthermore, upon the completion of test execution, StateSXT generates a comprehensive report in the form of a Google Sheet file. This report is automatically placed in a designated location within Google Drive, facilitating easy access and sharing of test results. This integration with Google Sheets and Google Drive enhances the overall versatility and collaborative aspects of the testing process while maintaining the structured and modular approach provided by StateSXT.

Design Pattern
The State Design Pattern is like a tool in software design that lets an object change how it behaves when something inside it changes. It’s a bit like how things work in a vending machine—depending on what state it’s in (waiting for money, dispensing a snack, etc.), it behaves differently. This pattern is connected to the idea of Finite-State Machines, which means that an object can be in a limited number of states, and what it does in each state is well-defined. In simpler terms, it’s a way to neatly organize how something acts based on what’s happening inside it, making it easier to manage and understand.

StateSXT adopts a Hybrid Testing Framework, strategically combining the strengths of modular testing and keyword-driven testing methodologies. In this framework, modular testing promotes reusability by organizing scripts into independent and reusable modules, each focusing on specific functionalities. Simultaneously, keyword-driven testing enhances script readability through the use of action words, making the testing process accessible to non-programmers.
By employing this Hybrid Framework, StateSXT leverages the benefits of both approaches.
